Our visit to Westham Island Farms

Despite the rain in Vancouver, we headed out this morning to Westham Island Farms in Ladner for our last field trip of the year.  As we passed through the Deas tunnel, the sky began to clear.  And, by the time we arrived at the farm, the rain had stopped just in time for us to enjoy our fun-filled day!  What a perfect way to end our great year in Grade One!

We visit all the animals.

Next we learn about plants.

Then, we plant our own sunflowers.

We take a break and have a snack in the gazebo.

Storm Drain Painting

yesterday we were poting salmon picher  by stom dran to  remid pepole to not porsin the water because it kills our salmon and if  salmon deys then we will dey to rit now our salmon is in the oshn.

yesterday me and my class is  going to teech other peepull that we shod not thro garbig in the stom grans.  and we are going to go and pant fish.

Yesterday we are poding salon pitcher by the pips for peper to remember there are fish in there. so they will not put pozing in the pips to kill the fish.

Save The Salmon
Today is Monday June the 10.We are using cardboard that  have a hole that look like the salmon.We are painting salmon beside the drain  because we are telling the people do not put anything that would hurt the fish and the salmon.fish is important to be in our land and it is good for you too.

we  are  going  to  people  house  to  give  them  the  mail  about    our  salmon  and  the  other  fish  we  are  give  the  mail  so  they  dot  put  drteay  staf  on  it  so  the  salmon  dot  diy.

Pea Leaf Dumplings

                                                        We are planting seeds for eating.

                                                                     These are the peas.

                                                      Are class is pulling of the pea leafs.

                                            We are putting cornstarch on the dumpling wraps.

                                           We are putting  the pea tips on  the dumpling wraps.

                                                          We are making dumplings.

                                                     We are  putting the dumplings together.

                                                               The dumplings are ready!

                                                        We are going to eat the dumplings.

                                                             The dumplings smell so good.

"I Am Not a Copycat" by Ann Bonwill and Simon Rickerty

Today Aelene came to our class. She is a BLG reader.  She read us a  story called I am not a copycat! It was a good story!!!!my fraveit (favourite) paje is the hippo eating  ice cream in the ice cream store.
I hope Aelene comes again  at Tuesday.

Geering Up - Ecosystems Everywhere

                                                       Yesterday we had two scientist came to thech (teach) us science about animals and we played two games one was growing up then the ather game was food web.

We made a biodome we use a poaff (puff) ball and water and drt (dirt) and seed and a sching (string) and at the end they gaved stcers (stickers).

Sports day was on Friday.  It was a great day of fun and races!
